Thank you for the support this year. I’m looking forward to sharing more music with all of you in 2014 //
Listen to December Selection // by Schubert on Beatport, the world’s largest music store for DJs.
The November Selection is up with some of my favorites from SCI+TEC Digital Audio, Octopus recordings, Porter Ricks, and Black Swan Recordings //
Simone Zino - Eclipse (Original) [Black Swan Recordings]
The lead track from the new record is heavier than his previous offerings and this EP shows how he has really developed. Massive grooves and every sound fits well in the mix. Of course I’m looking forward to what he will bring in 2014!
Porter Ricks – Port Gentil (Original) [Type]
The title track from Köner and Mellwig’s amazing album: I’m obsessed with every track on there and listened to the record at least a hundred times. It’s a good reminder of how high the bar was set over 20 years ago.
Refraction - Solar Quake (Original) [Sci+Tec]
One of the standout tunes from Refraction’s latest EP on the label. Next year, one can expect his debut EP on Black Swan with some fresh sounds with maybe a remix or two.
Calculus – Gorilla Belch (Original) [Octopus Records]
Going through some of my older libraries, I came across one of my favorite early releases on Octopus during the peak of that sound: Stripped down stuff at the core.
Schubert – Etheron (Concepto Remix) [Black Swan Recordings]
Out of the great package, Concepto showed his skills once again with a rolling remix of the deeper original.
Nonyas – Sneaker (Orginal) [Aurora Music]
After receiving three slick groovers from Nonyas, we immediately signed his EP to Aurora and this probably my pick of the bunch: Current tech house grooves that work just about anytime in the night.
Plasmic Honey – Jungle (Original) [Sci+Tec]
Another track that I came across going through my older libraries. I first heard it on Dubfire’s influential DJ Mag cover mount cd a few years ago. I’ve been a huge fan of the label for years and of course honored to be a contributor.
SIAN (OFFICIAL PAGE) - Farewell Mermaid (Original) [Octopus Black Label]
Graham has been on fire lately prepping his anticipated album likely to be released in 2014. Both of the tracks are massive, but the wild out of nowhere synth takes this one to the next level for me. I can imagine it being one of those tracks that people ask about at the end of the night. Mental…
Schubert – Chrome (A++ Remix) [Black Swan Recordings]
A++ brings his signature funk to the remix pack and interprets the original with some developing percussion and background sounds snug in the mix.
Ricky Ebner – Scarolla (Original) [Sci+Tec]
Another new EP that I’ve heard several times over the past months: Cool groovers with Scarolla fitting best for me.
The remixes of Schubert's Traces is exclusively on Beatport //
Boris - Banging pack! Chrome (A++ remix) for me.
Arjun Vagale - Stellar pack of remixes! A++ & Daniel stand out the most.
Luigi Madonna - Chrome A++ remix for me!
Michael Penman - One of the best promos I have heard in a long time.
Stacey Pullen - Cool thanks
Tomika - Cool EP. A++ Remix is my Favoite. Concepto Remix is sick as well.
Saso Recyd - Good remixes!
Justin James - Ante’s and A++ are both pretty hot!
Piek - A++ Remix if a great peak time track.
Francesco Bergomi - Ante’s remix for me! Great track, great sounds.
Chris Fortier - Good for me.
Stefano Lotti - I’ll try the A++ and Daniel Spanjaard remix!
Daniel Derek - A++ and Daniel Spanjaard Remixes for me!
Sean Random - Nice remix pack. Concepto and Ante are my fav.
Dubfire Opening Escape From Wonderland with Moondog (Intro Mix) [Sci+Tec] //
I asked some of my favorite producers of the moment that have been contributing to the Black Swan sound this year to make an interpretation of Traces I. They’ve given the originals a new dimension, and I couldn’t be happier to work with these artists.
In the Traces Series, parts from Schubert’s live arsenal have been rearranged into full tracks. The first in the series, May Fire, spans a wide range of sounds from the constant bass line and tripped out synths of the title track to the ambiance of Falsify. Etheron combines a rolling groove with alternating percussion and synth stabs, while Chrome is a straight forward main room tool sitting somewhere between techno and tech house. Schubert has balanced the roles of a capable producer and manager of Reverse Replay, which currently supports the catalogs of Black Swan Recordings and Aurora Music. Along with various interests spanning experimental and ambient projects, releases on Sci+Tec, Minus12, and Black Swan have continued to reach a wider audience supported but the electronic music landscape’s most respected artists. As a live act and DJ, Schubert has performed at venues from Paris to Miami and alongside Dubfire in Sci+Tec events across Europe
